Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Divorce

Help. My pro-se attorney (a judge appointed me) will not help me file divorce papers. She said since she is not getting paid my spouse's attorney must file the decree. He hasnt and this has been going on for over a year. His attorney is stating that he cannot get in contact with my husband. I gave my attorney his contact info and she gave to his attorney. I see my spouse every other week when he visits the kids. I ask him if his attorney has tried to reach him and he says no. I know he's lying and doesn't want the divorce. I don't know what to do. I am depressed because I can't move on with my life and no one will help me. I cant afford an attorney because I am out of work. When I ask my pro se attorney for status on the case she told me that she is on vacation this week. Also that my spouses attorney may withdrawl cause he cannot get in contact with my ex and she is waiting for that. Should I believe her? Or try to seek help from a legal aid program. I dont want to upset the judge.

Re: Divorce

Get legal aid help. Or get a minimum wage job that will allow you make payments to an attorney. I don't know why the court appointed you a lawyer, but it wasn't to get you divorced. You just have to rub dirt on it, and do this. Stop worrying about who is doing or not doing stuff you want them to do. Get up and do it yourself.
