Divorce question

separated, husband agreed to let me have the car that is under both names. his mother went to the dealer and told them that i wanted to take the car out of the county and they said i couldnt. (The car is financed through the car company.) Can i legally take the car? this is the only thing keeping us from filing for divorce. I want the car hes will to give it to me but the car company is saying I cant take it out of the county..help please!!

This is not an unusual clause in a financing agreement. The creditor wants to keep the collateral where it is 'findable'. Do you have a lawyer in this divorce? Your lawyer can lay out your options regarding the future of the car. Good luck.
