Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Ok, I am going through a divorce and I received the original petition for divorce and under the category, Attorney's Fees, Expenses, Costs, and Interest it states: To effect an equitable division of the estate of te parties and as a part of the division, and for services rendered in connection with conservatorship and support of the child, judgement for attorney's fees, expenses, and costs through trial and appeal should be granted against Respondent and in favor of Petitioner for the use and benefit of Petitioner's attorney and be ordered paid directly to Petitioner's attorney, who may enforce the judgement in the attorneys own name. Petitioner requests postjudgement interest as allowed by law. (I am the respondent) what does that mean? Is it saying that I, as the respondent, am responsible? Or that the petitioner is?

It is saying that the Petitioner is requesting the court to award all of those items to him/her. What the court actually ends up deciding what to do remains to be seen.
