Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
divorce residency requirements
My husband and I moved to texas 2 months ago from Minnesota. He filed for divorce in Texas and was told that we could get the divorce under minnesota laws without going back to minnesota. Is that possible? I am all for the divorce by the way.

If the divorce was filed in Texas, Texas law will apply. However, you can not yet file in Texas as you have not resided her for 6 months. You will need to pursue your divorce in Minnesota.
