Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

In need of a DIVORCE !!

Hi,

I have seperated from my husband in December of 1998. I haven't seen or been with him for 5 years. He has been living in Texas (Dallas County) for about 5 years and I have been here (Stephens County) for 1 year. I would like to get divorced from this person very much. I don't want to be a prisioner any longer. Unfortunately my funds are very, very low to none. Can anyone kindly direct me in the way of getting a legal divorce. I want it to be civil and simple. From what I understand he is willing to work with me on the divorce. Is there a way of doing all of it on my own, for I really cannot afford to retain an Attorney at the moment. Is there anyway of getting a 1,2,3 divorce without all of those legal fees, etc.

I really do appreciate any advice and or assistance from an Attorney who can be a friend at heart, who understands my situation..Thank you sincerely...

First, you might try free legal aide in your community. You can call the State Bar of Texas (or the internet) and ask for any free legal services in your county. There might also be some discounted legal services in your county if you qualify.

Second, I offer a Do It Yourself divorce kit for $125. I use it only in the Houston area but it could be adapted to your county if you live in Texas.
