Can you get a divorce in the state of texas without signing the decree?

The only signature needed on the Final Decree of Divorce is technically is the Judge's signature.

That said, there are things that need to be done in order to get divorced in the State of Texas.

1. You must be served legal papers. If you don't respond, then the Petitioner can go forward without any futher notice to you! That should scare you!

2. If you don't want to be served you can sign a document called a "waiver of service" in front of a notary that states you don't want to be served legal papers.
