can you have a mediator in a divorce proceeding if we both agree with each other, or do we have to file with an attorney?

You do not HAVE to use an attorney to file a divorce if everyone agrees.

If you agree on everything, you don't need to go to mediation. Mediation is done when there is not an agreement.
I prepare DO IT YOURSELF kits for people with no fights. Both parties MUST make full disclosure of all assets and debts.
If you are interested in doing a pro se case, let me know.
I walk you thru the entire process.
If there are no disagreements, it's easy -- even with kids!
In Harris County, there are several forms that you need prepared if there are kids.
Beware of on-line kits, most are NOT done by TX attorneys and they DON'T work in TEXAS!
If the on-line kit uses words like "maritial estate" it is NOT a TX kit!
