Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Divorce in Texas

September 19, 2007 I filed for a divorce. We have not live together since 2003 but my wife is claiming we were together until 2007. She is stalling and trying to hold out until we have been married for 10 years because she thinks she will get spousal support and part of my social security. What does the court use as the cut off date of the marriage.

Re: Divorce in Texas

You are MARRIED today. The marriage is terminated as of the date the divorce decree is signed - not the date you stopped living together. Better get a move on or she's going to win while you sit back. Good Luck
