Divorce in Texas

How do I know if my spouse filed the ''original petition for divorce''? Is there any way I can check this online?

Harris Co. District Clerk has its own website to check court files. Google to find. Good Luck.

You're probably not going to find what you want online. You can call the District Clerk's Office and try asking about it over the phone. You'll need both names.

If he has given you a copy of the Petition, does it have the District Clerk filing/time/date stamp on it? If it does, it has been filed. Not having the stamp doesn't necessarily mean if hasn't been filed, just that the copy you have has not been file stamped.

Feel free to call my office for an appointment if you would like to discuss this matter further.
