Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Divorced and fighting about debt

I have been divorced since Feb. 2009. Once I left my ex, he took my name off of all credit cards so I couldn't use them. In my divorce decree, it states my ex and I will pay the balance of credit card debt in the terms we agree upon. He and I agreed I would pay a certain amount which I don't feel I should pay now since I paid off a huge portion of his debt in the beginning. He is now saying he will send me a letter from an attorney if I don't pay him. Am I liable even though a specific amount isn't written in the decree and he has taken my name off of all credit cards?

If you had an attorney for the divorce ask him or her. If you didn't you will probably need one soon. Without seeing the decree there is no way to answer this. Good luck.
