Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am divorced and my ex husband is required to pay 50% of all medical and dental care for our child. She needs braces. He has primary dental insurance and my husband now has a secondary dental policy on her as well. Our insurance pays half of her braces, which is $3000.00. Which leaves a balance of $3000.00. My ex husband's insurance pays $1500.00, which leaves a balance of $1500.00. Am I required to pay half of that or is my half the portion which my insurance takes care of?

The language in your decree probably says that you have to split the reasonable and necessary costs of medical care which are not covered by insurance. That would mean that you each have to pay half of the $1,500 that is not covered by insurance.
