Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

When a divorced mother of two wants to take her children out of school to go on vacation, does her ex husband have to agree to the children missing school? The vacation and missing school days occur during the time the children are with the mother.

You don't need his permission for this.

But it wouldn't hurt to read your divorce decree carefully; it is the controlling document.

While permission is not needed, the fact that a parent removed a child from school could look bad in a future custody battle.
