Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Divorced in Texas and moving to Indiana with child?

My wife was divorced in Texas and has a child. We met and are now married and I live in Indiana. She has sole custody. Is she allowed to bring child to Indian to live as a resident? Is there any laws that state she has to stay in Texas?

Thank You!

She has a divorce decree that sets forth her duties and rights as a conservator. It will also have language regarding geographic restrictions. She is bound by that. If it does not, and the father of the child seeks to modify the order to include a restriction, then he might prevail. It depends upon the entire set of circumstances. She may want to consult with a Texas attorney to review the decree and advise her.
