Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I was divorced some 16 years ago. When I first got divorced, I was broken hearted and just refused to pay my child support. After getting older, I decided that was the stupid thing to do. I have paid my child support and a set arrearage payment ever since. I have not missed a payment in 6 years. My children are grown and I am now paying on just the arrearage of $600.00 per month. I owe arrearage in the amount of $10,000.00 but there is interest on it of $28,000.00. Is there anyway to get the interest dropped or reduced? I will never get it paid in this lifetime.

The only way to do this would be to settle with Mom, and convince her to go into Court with you on an agreed motion, and get the Judge to sign an order stating that the child support arrearage is zero.
