Your order (the child support order) probably says that there is only one way to discharge the child support obligation - by paying money through the State Disbursement Unit. If that is the case, then you're out of luck - you and the wife can't vary a child support order by private agreement.
What you CAN do, if the ex agrees, is file a motion with the court that reduces your arrearage to a judgment; then have her forgive the judgment.
I absolutely agree with Mark Dunn!
There is a form she can sign stating that you have paid her money directly. It must be notarized.
In the meantime, you need a tough attorney. I recommend PATRICIA BUSHMAN at 713-807-9405. Her prices are reasonable.
Otherwise, the TX A G can put you in jail.
Also, if you have a bank account, be careful! The TX A G computer will grab any money in it and your checks will bounce! This will be done without any notice!
You need an attorney NOW!
