Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I have been divorced for over 10 yrs and my child support has not been modified to this date from its original judgemet. My x wife and i have calculated the extra funds that she should recieve and are willing to start extra payments so she can recieve her full dues every month. Is there a way to pay the additional amount to or through oag to fulfill the requirement without having to enlist an attorney for a Modification Judgement. She is not seeking back support as my payments are current within last judgement and we have agreed entirely on how we would like to handle this matter, just need to know what can be done.
Thanks

If the two of you are in agreement about this you can just make larger payments to the State Disbursement Unit (OAG). Just make sure each payment is clearly identified as child support.
Based on what you have written, you may always make larger payments to the Disbursement Unit and specify those payments as child support. The potential problem is that your current court order states you are to pay child support at a specific set rate. You and your ex-spouse should file a petition to modify and obtain a new court order with the agreed amount as the new child support to be paid. If my law firm can assist you with this modification, please contact us at [email protected] to arrange for an initial consultation.
