Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

how do i get a divorce,my wife is in the army and she is in japan,she will be there for 2 1/2 years.i stay in TX, need help on how to get started.

If you meet the residency requirements, you can simply file for divorce and get her served (through her company commander), or have her sign a waiver.

If she invokes the protections of the Soldier's and Sailor's Civil Relief Act (50 App. SS501 et seq.), she can stop the proceedings, though.
