Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

divorce/signin papers

What happens if you refuse to sign the papers? Does it delay the process in any way? Can your spouse still get the divorce without you signin, will it cost more money that way?

Re: divorce/signin papers

A divorce action is like a run-away train. Only the person who started it can stop it. It is unlcear from your question what "papers" you are referring to. Generally speaking, the petitioner does not need the signature, permission or cooperation from the respondent to undertake or complete a suit for divorce. If you decide not to participate or cooperate, your spouse is more likely to prevail on the issues at hand.
