Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

DNA proven parent and childs name change

I went to court last year to request child support from my childs father. The DNA had come back that he was the father and the judge did allow me to add my last name to his but NOT hyphenated (the judge specifically stated no hyphenation). My child goes by his last name, but her birth certificate that I had originally obtained has my last name on it. Who is responsible for paying to get an updated copy of the birth certificate.Did the court send the order to the registrar and they automatically changed it?

Contact the court clerk and ask them if the order was forwarded (probably not). If not, get a certified copy and send to Bureau of Vital Statistics to change the name. If you want a new copy of the certificate, you will have to pay for it.
