Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

double mairage

i left my ''husband'' 1 1/2 yrs ago. He

is still married to his first wife, and

we were married in a court years

later. She contacted me, and let me

know of their still valid mairrage. She

never divorced him. he won't comply.

Even when she divorces him, will I

still be legally single? I have no plans

of reuniting with him. So, does this

mean I don't have to file any papers.

Can I legally consider myself single.

They were married first, and are still.

Since his first marriage was never terminated (and you should confirm this by means other than 'she said so'), you were never legally married to him. He is still married to the first wife. You would still be single.
