Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Dropping the Divorce Case

I filed for divorce last year one month after my wife left our home. She told me she wanted a divorce months before she left, but she never filed for divorce. Now a year and thousands of dollars of legal fees later, the case has not progressed at all, and I want to drop the case because I cannot afford these legal fees. Can I do this? What are the repercussions to dropping my divorce case?

Why would you want to stay married to this woman? Without knowing any of the details of your case there is no way to comment on your claim of no progress, but dropping the divorce now will probably just mean you have to pay everything again later. Talk to your attorney about various options for settling this matter. Good luck!
