Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
emancipating from my parents
i want to emancipate from my parents, i am 16 turning 17 on november, i have several reasons why i decided to do this, not just dumb teen reasons that are presented upon attorneys most of the time. i live in dallas tx, and i would like to know how to do this the right way. my parents are stopping me from growing as a person and accomplishing the things i can due to very immature reasons, i can't hold myself down like this anymore. i really would like to know if emancipating is possible and what the requirements are, and any attorneys that could help me on this case. thank you.

In the Dallas area, I highly recommend Theresa Langford on this website.
Tell her that FRAN sent you.
Removing of disabilities (aka emancipation) is very difficult to do. I've been licensed over 18 years and I've never done one!
You must meet certain criteria and most teens can't meet it or afford to do it.
Good luck!
