Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

If I have employed an attorney and feel like he is holding up the process can I call the opposing counsel directly to see where the settlement stands?

It would be a breach of ethics for the oppposing lawyer to talk to you about the case while you are represented by counsel.

Try this: Write a paper letter to YOUR lawyer (lick a 44-cent stamp). Don't pick up a telephone, and don't send an email. Ask him what the holdup is.
