Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Enforcing visitation.

My ex-wife has been abusing my visitation rights for seven years now and Im sick ofit.The divorce decree states that every first,third and fifth weekend of every month she has to meet me half way between the two different towns we live in.If she fails to meet me is it my right to go to the police station in her town and have them escort me to her house and pick my son up for his regular visitation?

Thank you....Kevin.

Re: Enforcing visitation.

Do the folowing:

1. On visitation day, go to the appointed place at the appointed time;

2. If she is not there, have your divorce decree with you, and;

3. Call the local police and make a report of the time and her failure to be there;

4. When you get to her place, give her a copy of the report; and tell her you will pursue contempt of court proceedings if she fails to abide by the order.

5. If she fails to abide by the order, file a motion for contempt.

I see no point to the suggestion you are considering.
