Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I entered into a divorce in February of 2008. In the divorce decree my ex and I were both showed as responsible for 2007 income taxes. The 2007 income taxes due were $16,000 so I am responsible for half and so is she. Since the divorce I have filed a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy and have been paying off the $16,000 every month with Chapter 13 payments. The entire $16,000 was included in my bankruptcy.

My ex has not paid me anything for this debt. What options do I have to obtain anything from her? Is the statute of limitations for sueing her up? Do I sue her or hold her in contempt of the divorce decree? Just wondering if I have any options here. I live in TX and the divorce as obtained in TX.

After you've paid the entire $16,000.00, she owes you $8,000.00. You should make demand on her, and then file suit (send her documentation proving that you paid it).

You can't have her held in contempt for not paying her half - that particular remedy isn't available to you. Texas doesn't have imprisonment for debt (there are a few exceptions).
