Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Ex-Boyfriend Joins Military/Paternity/Child Support
Shortly after ending her relationship w/her ex-boyfriend, my 20yr old daughter found out she was pregnant. The ex wanted her to terminate the pregnancy & she refused. He hasn't given any financial support because he denies being the father & has not been a very nice person. He has since joined the military. I heard that if she is on Medicaid(she is)that a Paternity Test can be done Free if he won't pay for it. Is this true? Also, when he is proven to be the father, what steps need to be taken to garnish wages for Child Support since he has joined the military? A prompt response would be greatly appreciated, because the Baby is due at any moment.
Respectfully,
Concerned Grandmother of Innocent Baby

Contact the Texas Attorney General, Child Support Division if you do not have the money to hire a lawyer or pay for paternity testing. They have a cadre of lawyers who do this all day long...
