Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My got my ex-girlfriend pregnant and she left me. She has since had the baby and doesn't want me to have any contact with the baby. She said she doesn't want child support from me and has put her husbands name on the birth certificate. Can she come after me for child support later?

The answer is...maybe.

Now that she put her husband's name on the birth certificate he is the "presumed father". But if they divorce, he can ask for DNA testing and if he is found NOT to be the bio. dad then he can claim not to be the father.

Then she can ask for DNA testing on you.

So, you might not be off the hook for child support.
