Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I do not now know where my ex-husband actually lives. It has been 6 months since

he has shown up for his visiting weekends, and he does not return phone messages.

He also has not paid child support for the last 6 months. What has to happen before

I can go to court to have his parental rights completely taken away?

You would have to have someone who was ready and able to step in and adopt the child(ren). Six months is the absolute minimum to justify such action, so you might want to wait a month of two more before starting an adoption. Or, you can go to the Attorney General and see if they will do an enforcement of child support. They may be able to find him.
