Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My ex-husband owes me almost $30,000 in child support. When I filed for enforcement, he was found in contempt, given a suspended sentence, and placed on community supervision. If he missed any payments, he was to face jail time. He made two payments after that ruling, and then missed two. How do I inform the court and go about enforcing the ruling? Do I have to have an attorney? The judge set a review hearing for April, but because of various other issues, I want this taken care of now.

Community Supervision is a term of art for probation. Most if not all probationer, have a probation officer. Chances are one of the conditions of his probation is that he make child support payments. The person you need to talk to is his probation officer. to report that he is not making child support payments. They can file a motion to revoke probation with the court.

You can contact the child support division of the attorney generals office to assist you. However they are not always speedy. If you want something done now, you should hire your own attorney
