Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My ex-husband is refusing to pick up his 12 yr old son for visitation, will not answer phone calls and cancelled his email so I cannot contact him. Our son is suffering emotionally--I now have him in therapy. I cannot pay $5000 to go to court over this. Do we just wait and wonder everyday he is expected or how can I handle this situation?

You cannot force your ex to pick up his son for visitation.

No court will make him take his son for visitation.

I'm glad you have the child in therapy. You two just need to go on with your lives without him in your lives.

Send your therapy bills to him for him to pay his portion.

If he does not, save them and eventually hire an attorney and ask a court to order him to pay them. Be sure to do this before your son turns 17. If you wait too long, the court loses jurisdiction over the case and cannot order him to reimburse you. A good attorney will also ask for attorney fees!
