Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

my exhusband took my son and never changed the orders now he wants to recalculate the amount he was still being charged. the child will be 18 in 5 months and i am unemployed and recently sober from drugs can they go back and make pay for the years he had him he was also 5000 in arrerage at the time he took him should i just sign off and give him custody and walk away

Do NOT give up so easily.

He can ask the court for a credit for the child support he paid or should have paid while he had actual possession and care of the child. As far as asking you to pay support for that time period, it was not up to you to get the order modified. He should have done that.

Fight him on the retroactive child support. You can win that fight.
