Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

my ex-husband wants to take my son to san antonio,texas from the border. Will i need a letter notorized stateing that he has my permission to travel with him? because they both have different last names. I live in san angelo,texas but we are both visiting the border (mexico)

You say that is it your ex-husband, but you did not say whether he was the father. if he is, then he has all of the rights given him in your custody order. Read it carefully. You should not have to sign anything,

If he is not the father,then he would have to have your permission to do certain things, such as seek medical care in a non-emergency. Children travel with non-parents every day.
