Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Ex-Husband's name on Mortgage/Home Ins.

My ex-husband and I were married and bought a house. When we divorced 3 years ago the house and all interest etc. was awarded to me and he ''is divested of all right, title, interest, and claim in and to such real propery except and save the lien that is awarded herein'' and then it has the property address and lot information.

I have to pay my ex-husband for half of the equity that accrued before our youngest turns 18 (which is in 9 years) I have remarried and I would like to refiance the home and make some home improvements mainly because of hurricane Ike so my question is...

Does my ex-husband's name still have to be on the mortgage and which his name is also on the home insurance?

You need to refinance the home in your name only, as he probably already has a lien filed for the equity owed. If there is not a stated amount of equity in the decree, get that issue resolved before making any improvements.
