Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My ex's lawyer has requested responses to questions that they came up with and is asking me about my new husband. They want his last 10 years employment and residence, his birth certificate, his highest level of education and his ID. I refused to give it so we are going back to court. Isn't there a privacy law that protects this info?

It sounds excessive to me, particularly if there are no children involved. If there are children in your case, then the other parent has some right to know who his child is living with. I think the guy's employment records and education are irrelevant. However, his residence history might show he has been living with some bad people whom he might bring in to your child's life, his birth certificate would suggest whether he might try to abduct the children to another country. If he was born in the US, then this shouldn't be an issue. His ID allows them to do a criminal background check.
But, like your attorney is doing, I'd probably object to all of that. I would ask the judge to do an "in camera" inspection of the records to see if there is anything the other side needs to see., if the judge requires you to produce the information requested.
Good luck!
