Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My ex-wife and I have lived together for 1.5 years, and we are not wanting to re-marry at this time. But we are wanting to buy a home. because of her credit situation, she cannot qualify and hurts our chances of getting the home. But, because of my child support garnishment obligations, I cannot qualify for what we need, without her releasing me of childsupport. Which she would like to do, but we dont know where to begin.

We were married in Texas and divorced in 2003. I pay court ordered throught the Texas attorney general office. We were divorced in Dallas County and live in Kaufman County, if that makes a difference

A joint motion to modify the child support provisions of the divorce decree filed with the court of continuing jurisdiction should operate to end the child support obligations. If you are living with the children, you probably should not be paying child support anyway.

See a family law attorney in your area to assist you with this.
