Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My exwife is taking me to court on jan.26th 2010 for falling behind on chils support because i got laid off a few times the past 2 years! I think im about 4800 dollars behind since 2008 and 2009 i pay in a total of 21,000.00 a year to child support and have been sending in extra when i get overtime to try and catch up! i havent missed a weekly payment in over 9mths now and she seems to believe im going straight to jail! Being that ive been paying and trying to catch up, what are my chances od being sent to jail?

It sound unlikely if you are making regular payments. If your income has changed, you need to either hire an attorney to file a motion to reduce your support obligation to an amount based on your current income.

I would definately suggest that you hire an experienced family law attorney to help you.

Based on your zip code, I highly recommend PATRICIA BUSHMAN at 713-807-9405. Talk to Jessica & tell her that FRAN sent you.

Pat is top notch and is in court on a regular basis. You will like her.

My mom's been sick so I'm not doing litigated cases right now.

Good luck!
