Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
family law- visitation
I read in the archives that a Petition of Enforcement can be filed to get visitation back on track. There are other stipulations in the custody order. Will the Petition also get that back on track? I'm referring to copies of all communication from teachers and school and also copies of the childs bank records. We have 49% and they have 51% but they have not complied with the rules since day 1. Thanks

Re: family law- visitation
It takes more than just a Petition. That is just the opening document. It can be for visitation as well as for any other issues of non-compliance. Your best bet is to find a good family law attorney in your area and sit down and go over the details of your situation with him or her.

Although you can certainly file for enforcement, it might be more cost effective to have an attorney send a letter to your ex. Sometimes the ex will "see the light" when they realize that the alternative is to duke it out in court.
