Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

family law

My 17 year old daughter is a habitual runaway. While not living at home she was caught shoplifting $250 worth of merchandise from a major retail chain. She was charged and sentenced as an adult. Now the retail company has sent me a letter demanding $250 from me as the parent of a minor. Am I responsible for this even though at 17 she was charged as an adult? Incidentally, all merchandise was returned unharmed at the time of apprehension.

Re: family law

Based on what you have written, it appears that you may want to contact the merchandise company via mail with certified mail/register return receipt. You can always have a law firm assist you with the drafting of this response. If you draft the response, be careful with the words that you choose as the merchandise company may attempt to twist your words later. If my local law firm can assist you with this legal issue or any other legal matter, please contact my paralegal Tina ([email protected]) to arrange for an initial consultation.
