family rights to a child

If a person gave up his/her rights to a child do the grandparents have any rights to the child? Meaning if they and other family members wanted to see and meet the child could they?

Re: family rights to a child

Not without taking some independent action to assert their rights. Those rights are derivative of the parent and limited. When the parent gives up his/her rights, the extended family loses their rights.
