Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

The father of my child has told me if I bring him something to sign he will sign his rights away. I really want him to do this so my husband can adopt her. How do I go about doing this without an attorney?

Unfortunately, I don't think you can do it without an attorney. A voluntary relinqueshment of parental rights is very technical legal document. Then you need to do a step-parent adoption. Both of these legal proceedings need to be approved by a judge in the county in which the child lives. Please talk to a family law attorney in your county. If you are indigent, then look on the State Bar of Texas website & try to find a pro bono organization (free) group in your county. Good luck!
