Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

fathers rights

I am a concicted felon for a previous charge I recieved in 1999. I have had no crimal history since and completed all my probation terms. I am now a upstanding member of the comunity and am remarried with 3 children. I am an active father that coachs t ball etc. I would like standard vistitation with my son from first marriage but she has used my passed history to keep that from happening I now have 2 hours a month supervised visitation and that is all. Is there anything that I can do to see my son on a regular basis and change this order ? two hours a month is not enough time for me to bond with my son and the relationship is poor because of the lack of time. The visits are also supervised by my ex-wifes brother in law (on her side) so its as if I can't even bond then for the family conflict and feeling of disconfort that I am sure even my son can sense the tension. I know that I have done wrong in the past but it has been over 5 years and can anyone ever get rights after making a mistake that will oviously haunt them forever. this was a long time ago for a drug possesion charge. Is it not possible for courts to see that at 19 when this happened I am different than the 26 yr old man I am today

Re: fathers rights

You can present this story to the court and see if the order can be changed. I suggest you hire a lawyer. Other experts or witnesses may be required. These things are not usually done on your say so alone.
