Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
In my fathers last will he left me 10% of the company when sold. The company was sold for $36,000 and my brother received $54,000 as a signing bonus. Am I entitled to 10% of that signing bonus ?

Probably not. It sounds a potentially fraudulent deal though. If the purchase price was improperly divided between purchase and bonus, you may have been cheated out of part of the proceeds.
However, if the purchaser hired your brother (and not you), they might really have paid $54,000 extra just to keep him. In that case, you probably are not entitled to 10% of the $54,000.
But if the intended purchase price as $90,000 and they improperly allocated it between bonus and purchase price just to cut you out, that is wrong.
