Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Hello, My fiance has custody of his daughter from a previous marriage. He is wanting to ask for child support. They have been divorced for about four years now. In the divorce decree he did not ask for child support. Can he go through the Attorney General? And if so will he have to pay anything to reopen the case or will his ex wife have to? We have a one year old daughter together I don't know if that will have any effect in the case? He just does not know how to go about getting child support without have to pay hundreds for it to happen. Any suggestions??

Thanks,

Celeste

Yes, he can apply for the services of the Attorney General. He can contact them here:

They are slow and inefficient, and he would be better off if he spent $1500 on a lawyer who works for HIM.
