Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My fiancee and her two children have been living in my house for four years and I'm now being told that if I tell her to leave, I will have to leave instead. The house, utilities etc. are all in my name. She does not pay any of the bills. Is it true that should I ask her to leave that I will have to due to her kids living here?

You're in a difficult situation.

It makes a difference whether you are buying the house or renting it.

If you're buying it, you may have to file an action for forcible entry and detainer to get her out (the Justice court will explain the procedure to you).

If you're renting, your best bet might be simply to move out and let her have the place. Hopefully you're near the end of your lease.
