Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I have been with my fiancee for two years now and he has a son that we have full custody of. My question is in the event that something happens to him before we are married is there a form we can fill out that will give me temporary rights to make medical, school ect decisions without having to spend money on a lawyer ect... Can we type up a paper and have a notary public sign it? (The birth mother abandoned him two years ago when i came into the picture so i am the only mother he knows. she has no contact with us or the child and doesnt seem to want to be in his life at all which is fine with us.)

"... that WE have full custody of" ? You need to explain this. How do YOU have custody rights to the child? Is there a court order that appoints you as a conservator?
In any case, the answer to your question can be found in chapter 32 of the Texas Family Code.
