Can I file for custody of children if they live in a different state?

My children live with their father in tennessee and I live in texas. Can I file in texas to get custody back. I live in texas, he lives in tennessee and we were divorced in georgia.

The Georgia court has jurisdiction. There are methods to enforce and/or modify an out of state order, but it is likely that if contested, the Tennessee court would take precedence as the residence of the children.
