Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I went to file for divorce and found out I was never legally married. My husband had committed bigamy. Who do I contact to let the state know? What do I need to do to clear my name to change my licence and tax papers?

Get a lawyer. Your statement that you were "never legally married" isn't true. You were (probably - you haven't given us enough information) a "putative spouse," and you have certain rights.

The controlling decision is Davis vs. Davis (521 SW2d 603), a 1975 case where this very situation was dealt with.
