should i file sole conservator or joint when filing for custody of my 9month old son

That depends on your situation. In the great majority of cases, the parents are Joint Managing Conservators, and one parent is the primary, and the other parent is the possessory with standard or expanded possession and access. You should at least consult with an attorney to get a clearer understanding of your situation.
