Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
file suit
My ex has a boyfriend who is threating to file suit because I will not give her our son's passport for travel out of the country. The decree states that both parties are to surrender the passport when we are to travel the reason I wont surrender is because she will not give me a notarized letter with our son's itinerary, also her car has a for sale sign on it. Can he legally sued even though he is not even married to her and do they have a valid reason to file suit. She wants me to give her the passport for her to travel but wont give me a letter so I can also travel with him, help what can I do?

Re: file suit
You should file the suit. Ask the court for a modification defining the terms of international travel, so that there are protections that your child will be returned. Your concerns are legitimate.
