If I filed for child support in Texas, and the father lives in Louisiana, how long will arrears be pursued.

We need a lot more information.
What do you mean that you "filed for child support"? Is it a paternity case? Are you enforcing an existing order? Are there already arrears (under a court order that he hasn't complied with)? By "arrears," are you talking about retroactive child support?
